Due to the murder of the two rockers, the highway had been blocked, and there was a traffic jam. Sergio put his blue light on the roof and turned his siren on to get space. They got to the crime scene relatively quickly. It was cordoned off with police tape. The Highway Police saw to it that no onlookers came too close. The crime scene itself was screened off with barriers. Even the reporters aboard the helicopters dispatched by various media didn't get an insight of the situation. The police had set up pavilions under which the investigators worked.

"We have to hurry. The road must be opened again."

They put their gloves on, and before Sergio had an opportunity to introduce his colleague, Bernd was already at the bikes. A quick grab, and for the first time he had a transmitter in his hands. Actually two.

"Here, Sergio! Harry can tell where these things came from."

"Harry is a pathologist."

"Harry is a curious fellow, and he has a liking for technology."

The two transmitters disappeared in a plastic bag which Bernd gave to Sergio. Then Bernd went to see the two bodies. In consternation, the investigators looked at the two men who seemed to know what they were doing and what to look for. Without wanting to determine the cause of death, Bernd got hold of the jackets of the victims.

"Bingo!"

He held a USB stick in his hands.

"That also has to get to Harry. Fingerprints etc., and Then I need it back."

"What for, Bernd? We can play it ourselves."

"I don't know whether a mechanism may start to destroy the stick if the program isn't started a certain way. I also need an electronic fingerprint of the computer."

"What do you need? An electronic fingerprint?"

"Exactly. Every computer has its own fingerprint. It can be identified that way. If it a web-based device, it can be found. Now comes the crucial question. Can the FBI do that without anybody finding out about it?

Sergio considered briefly.

"That I can't tell you. You'll have to ask our computer expert."

"It takes too long before you have checked out your system so that you can answer that question."

"Is your informer secure?"

"Is your system secure, Sergio? If we consider what we have already discovered, it isn't. I prefer to work with people who have already helped me constructively."

"But then the evidence won't be admitted by the courts."

"The hell with the courts, Sergio. If by destroying one piece of evidence I'm able to get better evidence, the end justifies the means."

Sergio shook his head: "If you don't have an argument, you manufacture one."

Bernd patted him on the shoulders and laughed: "OK?"

"OK. I'll see to it that you'll get back by helicopter. You can take the transmitters and the stick with you."

Bernd was still looking at the bodies.

"Are there cameras installed here on the highway?"

"There are cameras everywhere here on the highway."

"Try and get the films. These two men were shot from behind. It looks like 9 mm. Left-handed sniper."

"How do know about left-handed?"

"Look how these bodies are lying.
